Punta Lobos, Todos Santos

This expansive beach, named for its thriving sea lion colony, is a popular spot for local fishermen launching their pangas and provides a unique glimpse into Baja California Sur’s maritime heritage. The beach itself stretches along a dramatic rocky promontory, culminating in a picturesque lighthouse. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the sandy shore, observe the return of the fishing boats in the afternoon, and explore the ruins of a historic cannery. While swimming is possible, caution is advised due to potentially strong currents. A small freshwater lagoon and a shrine to the Virgin add to the area’s charm. The road to Punta Lobos is accessible via a dirt road, approximately a 1.7-mile drive from Todos Santos. With its breathtaking views and diverse activities, Punta Lobos offers a memorable experience for families, couples, and adventure seekers alike. Parking is available, but limited. There are no amenities on-site, so bring your own food and drinks. The beach is known for its strong waves and is not recommended for inexperienced swimmers.
