Tabasco is more river and wetland than beach. Its short Gulf coast around Paraíso and Frontera has fishing villages, oyster lagoons and beaches near the mouths of the Grijalva and Usumacinta rivers. The reasons to come are mostly inland: the Pantanos de Centla wetlands, the cacao farms around Comalcalco and the Olmec heads at La Venta Park-Museum in Villahermosa.
