Overview
Bahia Conejos is a unique and desirable coastal region east of Tangolunda Bay in Huatulco, Mexico, offering a blend of exclusive residential living and stunning beaches. It’s characterized by a high-end gated community, several beautiful beaches, and opportunities for water activities. The region is comprised of four distinct beaches: Conejos, Punta Arenas, Arena, and Tejoncito. It’s located east of Tangolanda Bay and is accessible by boat from Santa Cruz beach or via the road to Salina Cruz. A road leads to the mouth of Copalita, where visitors can park and take a short walk down a path to reach the beaches. Conejos Beach is known for its fine white sand, moderate slope, and warm, crystal-clear blue and green waters. It’s shallow to 15 meters deep, with rocky formations at the ends. Punta Arenas Beach is approximately 1 kilometer long and 30-50 meters wide, featuring white sands and warm blue waters. Arena Beach measures 500 meters in length and 30-40 meters wide, with sand with a half-white grain and a steep slope. The water is warm and crystalline with greenish-blue hues, surrounded by vegetation including organ, Cuachalala, Macuil, and mangle trees. The surrounding fauna includes various water birds, fish (marlin, sailfish, dorado, tuna, roosterfish), and mammals (badger, armadillo, raccoon, deer). Tejoncito Beach is a smaller, more secluded beach, 75 meters long and 20 meters wide, with a gently sloping shoreline and shallow, green and blue waters. It's ideal for those seeking privacy. The Conejos region is home to an exclusive, gated residential area featuring impressive architecture and 24-hour onsite security. Properties in this area boast a high degree of prestige. Day passes are available at the front gate for $400 Mexican Pesos per person/day, which includes a $300 Pesos food & beverage credit and towel service. Opportunities for diving, swimming, and fishing are abundant, and a short taxi ride to La Bocana offers mud baths and surfing lessons. The area is a popular spot for residents and visitors alike, offering a tranquil escape with stunning natural beauty.
